Perennial Homestead Herbal Hydrosols
Made on our homestead, we distill each hydrosol in small batches with freshly harvested homegrown herbs and whole plants in a copper still. We incorporate them into our daily lives as facial toners, light aromatic spritzes and to hydrate our hair.
About the hydrosols:
Peach Tree - distilled from the leaves and bark of peach trees we started from seed, this special hydrosol smells like almond cake and is our kids’ favorite! It’s gentle and tonifying.
Lavender - lavender is known for its relaxing properties, of the spirits and the body. We’ve used lavender hydrosol on irritated skin and diaper rashes for our kiddos and love to incorporate it into our nighttime routine to bring a sense of calm to a space.
Lemongrass - bright and refreshing, I love to use lemongrass hydrosol to lift my spirits on a grey day, repel mosquitos, and as a delicate perfume.
Garden Rose - our family’s most used hydrosol is garden rose and it’s one of my favorite to distill. We harvest the whole roses from a hedge that we established with garden roses from my family’s farm in Wisconsin and have traveled with me from home to home since I moved to Omaha in 2012. It is gentle, tonifying and moisturizing to the skin and we love it as a facial spritz in the morning!
Tulsi Basil - tulsi is one of our favorite herbs to grow and has naturalized around our homestead from seasons of dropping seeds. Tulsi is both warming and cooling and has a natural spicey aroma to it that pairs well with rose. We often blend the two hydrosols for a body spritz!
