FAQs

  • We are passionate about supporting small-scale farmers and artisans! All of the goods in our online shop and on our farm stand follow our sourcing standards to align with our core values of environmental sustainability, supporting small businesses and simplicity.

  • We make “value-added” products from homegrown and farmer-sourced ingredients. We make these goods in a commercial kitchen located at our homestead. And we work with a variety of small-scale producers to source high-quality ingredients!

We do our best to source from vendors that either make or grow their own products or source from ethical sources. We do our best to disclose the source of origin on each product listing.

  • We do our best to ship your order within 1 to 4 business days from your order! We ship all of our orders with the USPS and shipping takes anywhere from 1 to 3 business days, depending on the shipping address.

  • We’re a small business and our shipping costs are dictated by the current USPS shipping costs, sustainable packaging material costs, and more. More often than not, the actual shipping cost is more than the amount we charge. Thank you for your understanding and for continuing to support our small business.

We're happy to offer free shipping for orders over $50 as a way to say thank you!

  • Want to save on shipping? Select “local pick-up” and pick up your order at our farm stand in Ponca Hills, Omaha! You will be notified by email when your order is ready for pick-up. You are responsible for picking up your order within 7 days.

  • Yes, it's true. It might seem like we're having an identity crisis, slinging veggies one month and candy the next, so we would like to take this moment to remind you that every great recipe starts with GREAT ingredients. And those great ingredients start with amazing farmers!

At The Perennial Homestead, while we can't source all of our ingredients locally from farmers (though we'd like to!) we do our best to source whole ingredients, the kind you can pronounce, from the best sources. That means creamy yellow butter and half & half from Iowa family farms, fresh fruits from local farmers, and specialty ingredients direct from the source. It takes time and often costs more, but as farmers, we believe in supporting other farmers even when we're making candy.

And if you're like us and live in a place with winter, you know it's pretty hard to maintain your garden through the freezing December months. Our candy-making supplements our farming to provide a year-round income for our family.
