Modern Patchwork Risograph Zine
All Well Modern Patchwork is a risograph printed zine that guides you through the process of making a patchwork quilt from start to finish – including fully illustrated comprehensive instructions for cutting fabric, piecing patchwork, basting, machine or hand quilting, and binding the quilt. If you've never made a quilt before, or if you want all our best info and tips for quilt-making all in one place, this zine is for YOU!
Printed on a risograph machine, this approx. 5.25” x 8.5” (13.3 cm x 21 cm) 64-page print zine can be used and referenced to make quilts again and again. The booklet is hand-cut with stapled binding. This handmade nature means that there may be slight inconsistencies between editions. Risograph ink is a soy-based ink that never fully absorbs, similar to a newspaper, so a little bit of smudging is possible if you were to rub your fingers over the ink directly. Handle carefully and use well!
This quilt design in particular is construction-wise super simple but still visually dynamic and complex. You’ll pick the four colors and how they’re arranged in the set pattern. Then, you’ll cut squares, sew them together to make blocks, and then sew those blocks together to make your quilt top!
Includes instructions for five sizes of finished quilts. For each size, you’ll need four colors of fabric for the patchwork quilt top (we recommend mid-weight 100% cotton), along with batting, backing, binding fabric and some other supplies – specific amounts can be found in the zine.
FINISHED QUILT SIZES:
Wall Hanging – 32 x 32” / 81 x 81 cm
Baby – 48 x 48”/ 1.2 x 1.2 m
Throw – 48 x 64” / 1.2 x 1.6 m
Twin – 64 x 96” / 1.6 x 2.5 m
Queen – 96 x 96” / 2.5 x 2.5 m
