Coop-pourri

$6.00

Use as a coop refresher, this aromatic blend of herbs has many additional benefits aside from it’s fragrant scent! To use, simply sprinkle in nesting boxes or throughout your chicken coop.

Each blend is crafted by hand with an assortment of farm-fresh herbs and flowers. In an effort to reduce waste on our homestead, we also include “last season’s herbs” - as we harvest and dry fresh herbs throughout the season, we set aside excess herbs that were previously dried and use them for our coop-pourri blends. As such, each blend will vary slightly, but will include some of the following healthful herbs:

Fennel foliage and seeds, which are good for chickens to eat for general health.

Feverfew blossoms are an excellent insect repellent.

Lavender and yarrow have insecticidal properties, a lovely fragrance and a calming affect for chickens.

Rose petals are a natural detoxifier and help to rid blood of toxins and is naturally antibacterial.

Mint is a natural deterrent for mice and bugs, and has a refreshing fragrance.

Chamomile and marigold flowers repel lice, mites and fleas and is a natural antiseptic.

Sage and oregano may reduce the risk of salmonella.
